Vision Statement
EJ PRETTY's approach to winemaking was modest: what we wanted to do was to design a delicious beverage that can come close to the one that Jesus made on his first miracle by imagining how it tasted. We will then share it with a deserving world. Our dream wine was to have a taste so incredible that you can feel it with one sip, and you will be so generous and proud to share it with your worthy friends and family. It should be the best wine you present on an anniversary, weddings, birthdays, thanksgiving, Christmas, and prestigious events. You would not have to ask anyone, “would you like some wine” because the look of the wine says it all and the bottle speaks volumes. We did not know how to do that. An average person would say it is impossible, technically, since I was not a drinker, hardly went out and was not very social. So, we had three options, one was to do nothing. The second one was to put a piece of rubbish liquid in a bottle, and we can do that, but others are doing that already and we do not need to do that. The third option was to design the wine that I would want to drink and would love someone to give me as a gift. Even though we cannot put it into any bottle, label, or packaging available to us right there and then, we could not be like everybody and just put our name on anything and sell it for $50 and have it available at the local grocery store. It is called "just wine." But it is possible that we could find a way to make an excellent wine and put it in the best packaging and presentation ever, and sell it for like $15,000, Which we did. The decisive step blew our mind, which is to finally find a way to make the best and most delicious premium wine ever, in terms of quality, presentation and taste, and sell it for less than $500. WINE MAKERS BY DESIGN
It all began with our tradition of giving complimentary premium wine to our customers when they visit our luxury fashion and accessories store in Las Vegas. or Chicago. We usually shop around for exclusive wines deserving of our illustrious clients. Most times it is a daunting task to find an excellent quality wine. One day we gave a glass of wine to an unforgettable client, and she says, “it tastes great.” I responded, “do not worry, one of these days we will have an EJ Pretty wine. I am working on it. I will visit France soon to speak to a Champagne winery.” She looked at me with those kind brown eyes of hers, and after a moment she asks me, “do you know what I do for business? I responded, “please tell me.” She said, “I make wine.”
The next day following her contacts of the best grape growers in Napa Valley California, I was in the next flight out of Vegas.
It is in California that we began the process of making the best wine ever tasted.
